Our client is a privately held technology company based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
The Inventory and Sourcing Manager is responsible for ensuring device, SIM, packaging and in-box marketing collateral availability in the relevant warehouse, in line with growth projections and customer forecasts, in a manner that is on time, on budget and at the required quality levels.
They are also responsible for end-to-end purchase order management (order costing, placement, change orders and on time delivery), including total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization, in close collaboration with Finance.
You must have experience managing vendors and direct cost.
The Role
Develop, manage and optimize the enterprise and unit and vendor capacity plan
Together with manufacturer(s) and/or MVNO(s), develop and monitor ongoing forecasted requirements
Ensure that all purchases are at the optimized cost level, and review the vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance
Work with Account Management, Sales and Customers to conduct regular inventory performance reviews and establish target levels.
Identify, develop, document and implement the inventory mix management operational standards and aligning those with the sales processes
Ensure inventory visibility and accuracy in ERP, and provide reconciliations as needed to customer-facing programs.
Skills
Diploma or Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, finance or a related field, or commensurate work experience (Masters degree preferred)
CPIM designation or similar
5-7 years experience in:
Purchasing or strategic sourcing
An inventory management or materials management role in ahigh mix/low volume setting
Vendor management, including channel evaluation and performance management
Cost optimization, including forecasting and TCO modeling
5 years experience in enterprise resource planning
Excellent understanding of cashflow management and performance indicators
Advanced Microsoft suite skills, with particular focus on Access, Excel and/or Visual Basic
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.English language skills required, bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
Good understanding of business process analysis and redesign.Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
Strong ERP working knowledge
