Our client is seeking a candidate accountable for organization development, managing department initiatives, administering policies and procedures and overseeing the recruiting and staffing practice. This role requires an individual familiar with working in a unionized environment, with a strong background working in a Senior Human Resources Generalist role.
Responsibilities:
Contributing to the achievement of the HR Sector Plan objectives, goals and priorities, through the application of senior specialist human resources knowledge, expertise and experience;
Under broad direction, develop, review and implement various human resources projects, procedures and processes;
Exercising responsibility for the timely and successful completion of human resources related project and/or process outcomes;
Providing both strategic and operational human resource management expertise in the areas of compensation, employee benefits, recruitment and resource planning, benefits, pensions, HR metrics and reporting, and HRIS systems management.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:
University Degree related to human resources management or equivalent combination of education and relevant recent experience;
Minimum of 5-7 years recent experience in a Senior Human Resources Generalist role;
Experience working in a complex unionized environment;
Experience in the areas of Employee Benefits, Compensation and Recruitment preferred;
Excellent computer skills including the ability to run reports and manipulate data;
CHRL designation a definite asset;
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities at the same time;
Creative problem-solving skills with excellent judgment and analytical skills;
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications;
Must have strong competency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team.\
