Infrastructure Manager – Village of Harrison Hot Springs

The Resort Municipality of Harrison Hot Springs is seeking an Infrastructure Manager to oversee the ongoing assessment, maintenance and procurement of capital assets. The Manager will lead the organisation through new asset management planning and reporting requirements, with an emphasis on immediate capital requirements in the utility department, the fire department and in longer term plans in all departments. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Infrastructure Manager will work closely with our engineering and planning consultants and will play a key role in development planning.

The Manager will prepare and present regular reports to Council and will administer contracts, tenders, RFPS and service agreements. Excellent digital, written and verbal communication skills are required and applicants should have experience in developing and managing budgets on an annual and per project basis. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of GIS based mapping systems and will be tasked with setting up contract GIS services for use by all departments. This position requires sound project management skills and experience in effectively and efficiently managing multiple projects and initiatives.

Excellent people skills, the ability to maintain strong financial controls, plus a solid background in Capital Projects Management are a must. The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience, excellent computer skills, and the demonstrated ability to foster positive labour/management relations. The successful candidate will be an individual who thrives in a busy work environment, is self-motivated and enjoys working with people and wearing many hats. The Manager must be able to work flexible hours including evenings to attend Council or community meetings as required. Preferred qualifications include five years of local government experience preferably in a management or supervisory capacity. Preference may be given to candidates with Certification (or eligibility for certification) with the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia and/or EOCP Certification. A valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver’s license is required. This position offers a salary of $95,000 – $99,000 per annum as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
