Collins Barrow Nova Scotia is a local, independently-run, full-service accounting firm working within a National cooperative of 26 offices. With 10 partners and over 50 staff, our office works with entrepreneurial and business owners to build success in the Atlantic Provinces.
Responsibilities
report to, and advise, the Management Committee on all Human Resource matters
overall development and stewardship of the Firm’s Human Resource policies including, but not limited to, compensation and benefits administration, performance management and improvement systems, and recruitment and selection programs
employee onboarding, needs assessment and training in conjunction with IT department
coordination of the student education process and the internal Professional Development plan
maintenance of personnel records
lead the initiatives relating to employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
be an active member of the internal Social Committee promoting a positive and engaged workplace environment
Requirements
preferably a CHRP designation with post-secondary education in Human Resources or related area
a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role with progressive responsibilities, preferably in a professional work environment
ability to communicate effectively at all levels
experience in recruiting personnel
work history in payroll systems considered an asset
