Bring your experience as a compensation specialist to an important role within our HR team
As part of the Vancouver School District’s Human Resource team, you will play a lead role in supporting the newly implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System (HCMS) and the related compensation requirements for the district.
Using your strong working knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft HCMS, you will oversee many aspects of this system. Specifically, you will maintain all human resources and payroll related tables, troubleshoot issues, recommend new modules for training, help implement and monitor system upgrades, share information for mass updates to the service host, and test and validate data when mass updates are entered. As required, you will use your skills to advise and deliver reports to district management pertaining to compensation issues, as well as cost calculations related to a variety of employee and labour relations issues.
It will be important for you to regularly use your strong communication skills as you will collaborate closely with a number of district staff and employees and you will have regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholder groups. In addition, an ability to see the big picture will enable you to identify and implement workflow improvement and streamline HR businesses processes, which you will document in a manual of business processes.
You hold a bachelor degree with a minimum of three years of compensation experience at an intermediate level as well as one year working with PeopleSoft or a similar Human Capital Management System in a large multi-union environment. It would be considered an asset if you are a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Canadian Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Advanced Excel and strong analytical aptitude is a requirement for this position.
