Human Resources Associate – Group Zed – St. John’s

Due to our continued growth and success, we are expanding our St. John’s, NL based Corporate Services team.

Working as part of our corporate Human Resources team your duties will include:

Administering, coordinating and processing semi-monthly payroll for employees, located in Canada and the United States (including the calculations and adjustments for any payroll and/or benefit adjustments and modifications, such as, new hires, terminations, leaves, returns, rehires, status changes);
Acting as the first point of contact for all HR program inquiries including payroll and benefit related inquiries;
Developing, auditing and submitting payroll and benefit reports on a regular basis;
Administering both Canada and US benefit and HR programs ;
Creating and processing new hire and departure documents to ensure all necessary information is received, entered and processed accurately;
Developing and issuing employee letters and other HR-related correspondence;
Maintaining employee files, updating current policies and procedures, and additional HRMS duties;
Maintaining relationships with HR program and payroll vendors;
Organizing and supporting employee information sessions; and,
Other duties as required to assist the Human Resources function at Group zed.

Job Requirements:

Highly motivated, organized, enthusiastic and energetic professional with strong attention to detail and sense of urgency to achieve results.
Ability to accurately handle a high volume of transactions in accordance with strict deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding communication skills and work well in teams.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Minimum requirement of diploma in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or business-related field.
Knowledge and experience of administering and processing payroll and benefits is an asset.
Experience working with payroll systems such as Canadian ADP and US Ceridian is an asset.
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is an asset.
CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is an asset.
