The District of Saanich is looking for an experienced Human Resources generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Advisor provides professional advice on all aspects of the employment relationship.  Key areas include collective agreement and policy interpretation, labour relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, and application of programs such as the Healthy Workplace and Respectful Workplace Programs. In addition, the Advisor delivers training and provides support to managers and supervisors in the conduct of their management responsibilities.  The Human Resources Advisor has a designated client assignment and participates in corporate responsibilities in areas such as; policy development, program administration, and collective bargaining.

You have a comprehensive knowledge of human resource practices and an understanding of legislation governing human resources in a unionized, British Columbian municipality.  You are able to problem solve quickly and effectively, and you have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  In addition to your five or more years of in-depth experience as a Human Resources practitioner with a labour relations focus in a unionized environment, you have a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid BC Driver’s Licence together with a personal vehicle available for work related use as and when required.
