The City of Parksville is seeking a qualified Human Resources Advisor to join our human resources team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety, the incumbent will perform a range of generalist responsibilities at an intermediate level in the areas of full-cycle recruitment, training, employee and labour relations, participating in development and ongoing administration of personnel policies and procedures, may assist with benefits administration and occupational health and safety and participate and assist with ongoing and new projects and initiatives as required.

The City of Parksville is looking for a highly motivated, proven team player with a demonstrated ability to “change gears” quickly. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed grade 12 and graduated with a diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration or related discipline (specialization in Human Resources is preferred), complimented by three to five years’ experience in a Municipal Human Resources environment – working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset, and experience with HRIS databases (preferably in a local government or human resources setting); or equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid BC Driver’s Licence and a good driving record is required. A CPHR designation or working towards the designation is considered an asset.
