Job duties:
Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of hard landscaping workers who perform the following duties: maintain lawns, gardens, athletic fields, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, commercial buildings, interior plantscapes, residential buildings, municipal and provincial reserves, and other landscaped areas; spread topsoil and lay sod; spray, prune, cut and remove trees and shrubs; construct landscape and landscape structures; and plant, cultivate and harvest trees, shrubs, flowers and plants
Supervise hard landscaping projects which involve building structural retaining walls, paving stones, natural stone pathways and patios, large rock retaining walls, etc.
Establish work schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work units
Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
Train workers in job duties and company policies
Requisition supplies and materials
Operate specialized machinery and vehicles
May perform the same duties as workers supervised
Other duties assigned and consistent with the role

Terms of employment:
Full-time and permanent, 40 hours / week

Wage:
$ 21.50 / hour

Location of work:
Based in Calgary, Alberta; will travel to surrounding areas to work on clients’ sites

Education requirement:
Completion of secondary school

Experience requirement:
2 years’ experience in supervising landscaping projects and workers on site; must have relevant experience in hard landscaping projects which involve building structural retaining walls, paving stones, natural stone pathways and patios, large rock retaining walls, etc.
