The Inuvik Community Greenhouse is located in a small community in the Northwest Territories. It is one of very few greenhouses located within the Arctic Circle, and strives to provide the community with an opportunity to grow local organic food during the summer months and access locally grown flowering plants to beautify our neighbourhoods.
The Greenhouse Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day organization and management of the greenhouse and commercial garden, as well as its associated programming, including the annual food and flowering plant sale, weekly produce markets, community gardening education, workshops and tours.
Experience:
Post-secondary education preferably in the field of botany, environmental science, agriculture, or another related field. Equivalent experience considered.
A minimum of two years experience in greenhouse operations
Previous experience working in community-based settings with volunteers and with commercial greenhouses would be considered assets.
