PhotoSat, provider of the world’s most accurate satellite topographic surveying, has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative / Project Manager to work from our Vancouver office.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a related field, preferably a BSc in GIS, Geomatics, or a related GeoScience. An experienced user of ArcGIS, he or she will be able to demonstrate that they are enthusiastic and self motivated, customer service obsessed, and have an exceptional work ethic. They must be superb communicators and have the ability to understand a customer’s technical needs and applications and how those needs relate to our products. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a strong desire to learn, have excellent organizational and time-management skills, a winning attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly co-operative team environment. It is essential that the candidate is highly detail-oriented.
PhotoSat’s clients are Exploration Geophysicists, Geologists, Geotechs, Surveyors, Civil Engineers, Mining Engineers and Managers of Oil and Gas and Mining companies throughout the world. PhotoSat’s unique process creates engineering grade topographic surveying using satellite images.
The Customer Service Rep / Project Manager role starts well before a project starts as they are involved in identifying suitable clients, providing presentations and the required technical information. They will make an accurate assessment of a client’s needs and propose the most suitable options. This is followed by the preparation of project proposals including financial and timeline assessments.
Previous experience with ArcMap is required, including handling a variety of data formats, as well as knowledge of projections, datums, and the use of transformations between them. Additional knowledge related to remote sensing and mapping would be an asset.
As the client’s project proceeds within PhotoSat, the Customer Service Rep / Project Manager monitors the progress of the project working with PhotoSat’s production department to keep the client informed of progress and addressing any special requirements that may arise. After the project is delivered the Customer Service Rep / Project Manager provides follow up with the client and end users to ensure that the client is completely satisfied with the deliverables.
