We are currently seeking a General Manager to plan, direct, supervise, evaluate the operations and ensure the management activities of Qikiqtani Retail Services, which includes Baffin Gas Bar, Plateau Café, Plateau Convenience, and Baffin Deli.

Key Responsibilities include:

Supervision and co-ordination of daily routine of all employees while maximizing use of employee work time;
Prepares financial and special events reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
Establishing and supporting staffing requirements, including recruitment, training and performance evaluation;
Responsible for Meeting with staff on a regular basis to ensure staff is aware of their roles and responsibilities;
The incumbent ensures that there is an adequate supply of inventory on a daily basis;
Maintains adequate merchandise and products for sale and enforces price and credit policies.
The General Manager is responsible for site, building, asset and inventory security to prevent damage, theft or employee pilferage;

Qualifications and Skills:

The responsibilities of the position require a specialized knowledge of Retail Management and Sales. This knowledge is most commonly acquired through a college diploma in business administration or other related field.
The incumbent should have a minimum of 3 years working in a retail environment and supervising a team.
The incumbent must possess a class 5 driver’s license.
Knowledge of cash register programming and reporting is an asset;
Supervisory experience is required;
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a cross cultural environment;
Ability to speak Inuktitut would be a desirable asset.
