The Town of Stony Plain is currently seeking a key member of our Senior Leadership Team for the position of General Manager, Corporate Services. Reporting to the Town Manager, the General Manager provides leadership and direction to the functional areas of Financial Services, Human Resource Services, Technology Services, Legislative Services, Procurement & Assurance. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager has involvement in all aspects of the municipal operation including policy development, strategic planning and implementation; and provides leadership for enterprise wide corporate and fiscal planning.
As General Manager you are a strategic thinker and problem solver with sound judgement. You have the ability to motivate, mentor, support and influence a diverse team of staff to create a high performance work environment. Your interpersonal and communication skills enable you to build trusted relationships at all levels throughout the organization.
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Commerce or Public Administration
Professional Accounting Designation required
CLGM designation is an asset
Experience:
Proven knowledge of the Municipal Government Act, Generally Accepted and Public Sector Accounting Principles, FOIPP legislation and Labor Standards.
Strong Leadership Skills and the ability to Coach/Mentor organizational staff
Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, verbal, written and facilitation.
Strong Customer Service Orientation
Five to ten years’ experience in a senior leadership role in a municipal environment is preferred.
The Town offers an excellent benefit package including the Local Authorities Pension Plan, plus an extra option to participate in the Apex Supplementary Pension Plan. Based on a 35 hour work week, the salary range for this position is $105, 897 – $135,892 (salary is negotiable within this range based on experience and qualifications).
