The Role:
Organizing and supporting major gifts fundraising activities centering on personal contact by Board members, volunteers, and senior staff, including:
identifying and researching prospects from foundations, corporations and individuals;
managing pipelines, prospect tracking, strategy, task assignment and maintenance of timelines to keep campaign committee on track;
scheduling meetings, preparing talking points, assembling presentations, and full meeting prep for our representatives; and,
writing campaign correspondence including solicitation proposals to corporations, foundations and individuals; meeting requests, and follow up as required
The development and implementation of an annual marketing plan for WPC with appropriate strategies and tactics to accomplish the revenue and communications goals of the organization
Developing and implementing a bequest/ legacy strategy for the organization
Participating in the planning, writing, and implementation of a thorough annual direct mail program targeting prospects, existing donors, lapsed donors, monthly giving, and legacy giving, including follow-up, new donor stewardship, and measuring effectiveness.
Leading development and implementation of a social media (SM) outreach program to grow our audience and lead to direct conversion of followers to donors, including:
achieving platform-specific objectives, strategies, and effectiveness measures;
maintaining, and leading implementation of an overall communications plan, including both a long-term overall calendar and short-term leverage of breaking events;
ensuring coordination of messaging across channels; and,
developing conversion strategies and tracking effectiveness.
Assisting in the development and implementation of an overall communications plan, including:
Crafting key messaging, action plans, and methods for measuring results, per target audience;
timetable/calendar of initiatives;
development and execution of a media strategy;
recommendation of resources to use and estimated costs; and,
updates to website.
Your Background:
As a versatile fundraising and communications professional, you will have:
Three to five years fundraising experience of;
Securing major or leadership gifts; and managing annual appeals, stewardship, legacy giving, and communications
Fundraising campaign management experience
Grant and funding proposal writing experience
Experience in the development of collateral materials, including both print and digital.
Have a working knowledge of using technology in support of a revenue generation program,including a demonstrated ability to establish ROI’s for marketing campaigns; reporting to management; and developing KPI’s to translate raw data into valuable insights to maximize marketing campaign results.
A knowledge of multi-channel digital marketing campaigns including websites, mobile, email, social media and paid media campaigns.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in marketing or communications is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Website maintenance experience including knowledge of Content Management Systems (ideally WordPress) would be an asset.
Experience using online databases and other sources to locate financial and philanthropic information
Enhanced computer skills, especially standard “office suite” products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; Photoshop and Illustrator; and/or the equivalents of these.

This Contract position will be for a one-year contract beginning June 1, 2020 (although start date can be flexible)
