The Role
Reporting primarily to the Managing Editor and the Audience Development Manager, the Ad Manager’s duties will include:
Copywriting;
Creating or giving pointers for advertising design;
Performing full keyword research and developing related strategies;
Creating SEO keywords and guidelines for advertising and overall editorial Mix content based on available analytics and an audience development plan, with the support of the Audience Development Manager and other team members;
Posting and managing ads on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and SERM through monitoring, SEO, and PPC research;
Recommending strategies to improve brand awareness;
Working with the Audience Development Manager on ad campaign scheduling and rollout;
Meeting with the Audience Development Manager weekly, and other team members as needed;
Providing expert advice on marketing and advertising methods for new or existing products or services;
Supporting the development of user experience/user interface recommendations for newsletter format, including pathways from lead to conversion for specific audiences.
Qualifications
Studies in social media management, web design and management, content marketing, online communications, or equivalent practical experience;
Good grasp of audiences interested in environmental and news products is an asset but not mandatory;
Excellent knowledge of the latest trends in SEO and PPC;
Past campaign experience;
Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English;
Comfort/familiarity with ad platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter;
Comfort/familiarity with online design tools (eg. Canva);
Exceptional ability to think critically and plan strategically;
Curiosity and aptitude for learning new fields;
Solid sales and presentation skills;
Pertinent past work experience is welcome.
