The Municipality of Rankin Inlet is seeking a full-time Fire Chief to join its Management Team. The Fire Chief is responsible for the organization and direction of a volunteer  re department in order to ensure that loss of life, property, or injury as a result of  fire is prevented and/or minimized.

Qualications Required Include:

minimum NFPA Fire officer Level 1 training and NFPA Fire Service Instructor Level 1 training
completion of Fire Fighter Training NFPA 1001 Level II combined with several years of related firelighting experience
Pump Operator training
supervisory experience in emergency and command and control situations
stress management and time management skills
knowledge of  relighting public education and awareness program
must possess or obtain a valid Nunavut Class 3, with air brake endorsement, Driver’s Licence
supervisory and leadership skills
effective verbal, written, and listening skills
