External Affairs Coordinator – P3 Permaculture – Montreal, Quebec

P3 Permaculture is a social enterprise with a mission to design, share and grow, appropriate ecological solutions that profit the planet and its inhabitants. Permaculture is a design process that incorporates principles derived from the observation of nature to create conscious design solutions resulting in a holistic and ecologically abundant society.

The External Affairs Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of all external affairs needs at P3. This includes all communications and promotion responsibilities, as well as web-related tasks and PR. As a leader of the External Affairs Department, this person also manages one or several interns.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

Design promotion and marketing campaigns
Manage social media presence and content
Write and distribute bi-weekly newsletter
Outreach: manage current partnerships and seek new ones
Maintain media relations (write press releases, update press package, contact journalists, coordinate interviews, etc)
Maintain and update the website
Scout for events and conferences where P3 should have a presence or table
Represent the company at tabling events, fairs, etc.
Manage, guide & evaluate interns of the External Department (Vlog intern)
Do graphic design that is not outsourced
Manage the External Affairs Budget

Required Qualifications

2 years of experience in a similar position
Experience with outreach and networking
Ability to work with the public, represent the company at social events (PR)
Knowledge of InDesign (main tool used to design)
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
Written & spoken bilingualism required: ability to translate documents
Knowledge of social media management and Hootsuite
Knowledge of newsletter writing and Mailchimp
Excellent writing skills
High computer literacy
Ability to work independently
Good team spirit & leadership

Strong Assets

Knowledge of permaculture and sustainability
Knowledge of video production and marketing
Experience or portfolio in Graphic Design
Knowledge of PayPal for businesses

Work Conditions

Wage $15/h – $20/h (based on experience)
Hours per week: 10-15h
Start date Mid-August, 2015
Flexible schedule
Work can be done from our office or from home
