Established in 1904, and with a $2-million budget, the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA) is a non-profit organization representing the interests of more than 3500 Canadian seed growers. In its key role, CSGA operates the Certified Seed program in cooperation with the Canadian Food inspection Agency, ensuring the supply of high-quality seed in Canada, complemented by advocacy and member services.
As leaders in the seed industry, the CSGA is involved in new and emerging technologies, input into, and collaboration with, key stakeholders on topical issues, procedures and policies to monitor and regulate production, and advocacy on policies to protect its members both domestically and abroad. In addition, the association offers professional development for members, marketing and visibility opportunities, and valuable information and resources.
This widely-respected organization is now seeking its new Executive Director to provide leadership in guiding the Association in accordance with its Board’s strategic goals. Working closely and effectively with a 23-member Board of Directors, the new Executive Director will position CSGA as the voice of the seed industry, while providing operational leadership to a small staff. With an emphasis on open communication and stakeholder consultation, the new Executive Director will assist in setting goals and objectives that position the Association for continued success in a changing environment. He or she will develop strong linkages with government, industry, and other stakeholders in order to ensure the continued vitality of the Canadian seed industry.

A seasoned administrator with well-developed financial acumen, you bring experience in sound governance practices, and a transparent, open approach. You are an outstanding communicator and negotiator, and are looking for the opportunity to build capacity while ensuring that CSGA maintains its place as a valued voice in an increasingly complex business environment.
