Serving the community of Cold Lake for more than 30 years, 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) provides individuals and families of the Canadian Armed Forces with support, programs, resources and services that meet the unique challenges of the military life. As a registered non-for-profit organization, 4 Wing MFRC’s mission is to work for the general betterment of life for military families through positive action, education and support. MFRC’s programs and services include deployment support, welcome and community integration, employment assistance, mental health and wellness, youth and child development, education and training, and volunteer opportunities.
4 Wing MFRC is part of the Military Family Services (MFS) as directed by the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces. Working closely with the 4 Wing Cold Lake Military Base and the City of Cold Lake, 4 Wing MFRC provides the resources while promoting and sustaining their excellence, relevance and accountability to the Military Family Services Program.
Executive Director – Cold Lake Region
As the Executive Director, you will provide strategic direction for 4 Wing MFRC through the management of administration, programs, financials, fundraising and community outreach initiatives. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director works closely with the team to ensure quality programs and services, while acting as the face of the organization and liaison with the community and the Cold Lake Military Base.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior management role within the non-profit sector. Experience within military or military support organizations is preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Services Administration, Community Development, Social Work or equivalent is required.
Experience directing various community programs including daycare and childcare is preferred.
Previous experience working with a Board of Directors.
Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Public speaking capabilities and the ability to represent the organization in a professional manner within the community.
Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
Strong, hands on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
