About the Role
The WCB is seeking a service-oriented, adaptable, Executive Assistant to join its Executive Services Team on a term basis until June 30, 2016.
The Executive Assistant is an integral part of the Executive team. Work involves a range of activities necessary to ensure the effective and efficient administration of, and time management within, the Office of the Executive Team. This position provides executive and administrative support to the CFO and VP Corporate Services, the VP Prevention and Service Delivery, the VP People and Planning.
As safety champions, all employees are responsible for following safe work procedures; using personal protective and safety equipment as required; knowing and complying with all regulations; reporting any illness or injury immediately to their manager; reporting unsafe acts and unsafe conditions; and cooperating with occupational health and safety initiatives. As an ideal candidate, you possess:
University degree in office administration or a related field, plus five years’ experience in an executive team environment
OR
Grade 12 or equivalent, plus graduation from an office administration or related program and ten years progressively responsible experience, five of which have been in an executive team environment.
Experience working in a team or team-like environment is required.
Experience working at the executive administrative support level is preferred.
Among other expertise, the successful candidate is expected to:
Demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills when dealing with clients, staff and management in a manner that respects others’ situations and builds positive relationships.
Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Be a good time manager, organizer and multi-tasker.
Possess excellent computer skills; have a proven ability to use software applications such as: MS Office Suite of tools, along with the ability to use advanced office productivity software such as desktop publishing, or graphics for creation of specialized products appropriate to the position plus be able to perform a full range of office management functions – including reception, records management, production of correspondence and other documents, maintenance of schedules, travel plans, conferences, and assisting in the preparation for Board meetings and events
