We are looking for a competent event manager for July, August and the first week in September to help with our on-farm public events including our annual Harvest Festival held on Labour Day weekend. Responsibilities include booking and organizing events; negotations with vendors, suppliers and instructors; preparing budgets and financial updates; promoting through social media, print and broadcast; creating marketing materials; finding sponsors; organizing files and picture libraries; cleaning, moving furniture and equipment and site preparation.
Requirements:
post-secondary education (current student or graduate); strong writing skills; excellent communicator; experience with project management; proficient in all social media, Excel, Word; knowledge of Canva, AirTable; reasonable photographer; use of own vehicle; physically able to lift 50 pounds; not allergic to animals, pollen or hay; able to work outside; able to work independently.
Hours may be flexible. Must be able to work occasional weekends especially Labour Day weekend.
This job is funded by Canada Summer Jobs so candidates must be under 30 years old but do not have to be enrolled in school currently.
30 hours a week
$15-20 per hour depending on level of experience.
