Purpose of the Role
The engagement manager will foster a supportive and collaborative team structure where innovation and strategic thinking is encouraged. EDC’s work is grounded in identifying a theory of change and designing a path that will lead to securing stronger environmental protections. The engagement manager will design and deliver supporter engagement journeys that increase public participation on campaign issues and help deepen the relationship between Environmental Defence and its supporter base.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute public engagement strategies
Coordinate public engagement activities and/or events, meeting engagement targets within the allocated budgets
Provide support for events such as webinars, community town halls and in-person meetings
Draft compelling calls to action through e-blasts, blogs and newsletters
Assist in the creation and management of digital engagement tools
Analyze activities & prepare reports to inform future engagement activities
Skills and Experience
4+ years of experience in organizing public, community or membership engagement strategies
Excellent writing, presentation and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate persuasively, both verbal and written
Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Engaging Networks is a must
Demonstrated project management skills including work planning, budget development and tracking, and reporting on outcomes.
Ability to think critically and make well-informed, timely decisions
Strong background in environmental issues is an asset
Location
This role will be a hybrid role, part time in the office and part time work from home. Toronto preferred.
