The Opportunity:
Goodwill is currently looking for a result oriented individual; with an entrepreneurial spirit striving for excellence in customer service. As an Employment Coordinator, you will be responsible in providing individualized job preparation and/or placement support for individuals with disabilities working to obtain/maintain meaningful employment or volunteer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Power of Work Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Conduct Person Centered Plan (PCP) interviews with the individual, and other stakeholders and supports, in order to determine the individual’s employment aspirations, experiences, abilities, skills and potential obstacles.
Facilitate career and resource exploration, techniques, and job preparation supports for individuals, based on the individual’s PCP, ISP, and data collected through assessments in order to support successful attainment of goals.
Meet with employers to establish work goals and develop implementation plan to ensure that employment coaches and employer are aware of the individuals’ employment goals.
Monitor, consult and act as a liaison to employers and co-workers within the workplace, in order to provide for a supportive environment for individuals, including adequate levels of support, to prevent or resolve workplace issues and to ensure that the rights of individuals are upheld.
Complete and maintain up to date files and documentation for each individual’s current and past employment placements, including job placement summary and participation in training and activities within the program.
Candidates Requirements:
As an Employment Coordinator, you are able to engage people, lead the team by example, and encourage team work by creating a fun and energized environment. Your past work experience must include at least 2 years of working with individuals with disabilities and/or barriers to employment.
In order to be successful in this role, you should demonstrate following skills and qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to influence, empower, and motivate others.
Must have own transportation, a valid class 5 driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
Rehabilitation diploma or equivalent education in the human services field.
Must be at least 18 years of age or older and pass a criminal record check.
