The Regional District of East Kootenay is seeking a keen and passionate individual to provide coordination and administration of emergency planning for RDEK Emergency Programs. Under the direction of the Protective Services Supervisor, the Emergency Program Coordinator effectively supports the implementation of the Emergency Management Plan.
Qualifications and experience include:
2 years’ experience in an emergency management environment;
Emergency Management Certificate or equivalent;
Thorough knowledge and proficiency in the operation ofMS Office Suite;
Completion of Grade 12; and
Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence;
Key Skills and Abilities:
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Competence public speaking, report writing, and project management; and
Coordination and administration of emergency management programs;
Organize and prioritize the work of contractors and volunteers;
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required; and to be on call including in emergency situations after hours;

This is a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) Union position with a starting hourly rate $34.07 and provision for on-call pay.
