The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is now accepting applications for a full-time Emergency Program Coordinator based out of its Salmon Arm, BC office.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Protective Services the Emergency Program Coordinator provides coordination of emergency planning for the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) emergency programs. Typical activities include the development and delivery of preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery and operational continuity programs and processes in order to ensure the provision of a well facilitated emergency preparedness program. The Emergency Program Coordinator develops and implements strategies to meet the program’s planning objectives which include ongoing contingency plan development and the training and exercising of the emergency plans and procedures based on analysis of the hazards, risks and vulnerabilities identified within the geographical area. The Emergency Program Coordinator works in the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) during an activation.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements: Completion of a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Emergency Management or in a related discipline plus four (4) years relevant experience, preferably in a unionized, local government environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Licenses, Certificates and Registrations: Valid BC Driver’s license or equivalent, Level 1 First Aid.
This is a permanent full-time position and is subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement negotiated between the CSRD and CUPE Local 1908. The salary range for this position is $2,713.41 to $2,981.16 bi-weekly (July 2017 rates) with an attractive benefit package. Typical hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (Option to work an additional half hour and participate in flex schedule). Due to the nature of emergencies, some evening and/or weekend work will be required.
