Under the general direction of the Manager of Operations or designate, the Electrical Distribution Coordinator is generally responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the City’s electrical utility systems in alignment with legislative requirements, City policies, departmental asset management program, capital plan, annual budget and customer requests.
We expect applicants to have a valid Journeyman Lineman Certificate with additional training in: local government administration, asset management, or other related systems. Formal education should be complemented by five years experience and current training in relevant safety courses like WHMIS and First Aid. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills including dealing with the public and supervising a department. We’re hoping you’ll have a solid understanding of other municipal utilities and how they interact with the electrical system.
This position is a part of CUPE Local 4728 and subject to all parts of the Collective Agreement. The wage rate for this position as per the Collective Agreement is $47.51 per hour. This position will work 40 hours per week 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
