THE ROLE

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, as a senior leader within the company, the Director of Operations will be accountable for managing and leading all aspects of the company’s operational Production, Security, Facility Maintenance, and Procurement activities to promote the company’s growth and profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organize and lead all production schedules, systems and processes.
Oversee the management of all tasks in the medical cannabis commercial scale production process.
Ensure production equipment and associated infrastructure is maintained.
Promote product quality assurance through the development, application and adherence to Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Production Practices and other relevant regulations and documents.
Lead the implementation and management of security measures in compliance with regulations for both personnel and the facility.
Ensure regulated sanitation standards are maintained and promoted.
Negotiate, develop and maintain relationships with suppliers for all aspects of facility operations and maintenance.
Plan and organize all shipping, receiving and order fulfillment functions, promoting strong cash flow through effective inventory management.
Liaise with other key team members.

REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing in a highly regulated commercial scale production setting
Experience with supply chain systems and management
Demonstrated financial and budgetary acumen
Exceptional problem solving and analytical capabilities
Sound leadership, interpersonal, communication and project management skills
An entrepreneurial mindset
The ability to obtain A/RPIC status per MMPR regulations
Commercial scale high throughput agribusiness management experience would be an asset
Knowledge of the Cannabis plant and its genetics would be an asset
