As we continue to grow our operations across Canada, we are looking for a strong leader to join us in the role of Director, Human Resources. This is a newly created role. Reporting to the President, you will be an integral member of both our Executive and HR Team, overseeing the development and implementation of all HR programs and initiatives to support the company’s vision, mission, values and strategic direction. You will inspire a culture of employee engagement by supporting corporate leadership in all HR functions related to the management of the talent lifecycle.
Key Job Accountabilities:
• Facilitates organizational effectiveness, leads the management of employee contribution and manages HR operations, processes and the HR team.
• Undertakes special projects related to the management of transformation and change.
• Develops and delivers key talent strategies and initiatives for achieving business results
• Manages the effective design and implementation of corporate programs related to performance management, work environment, engagement surveys, health and wellness.
• Coaches management on individual HR issues, performance problems, disciplinary procedures, terminations, and promotions; and provides advice and options in solving problems.
• Advises management on policies related to conditions of employment; compensation matters, leaves of absence; and workplace standards.
• Works collaboratively across all functional areas to achieve positive talent outcomes: learning, engagement, growth, and productivity
• Provides effective leadership direction to the HR Team, offers support, feedback, encourages professional development, guides activities by building capacity, capabilities and ensuring a strong focus on service effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provides centralized leadership, communication and execution of HR processes, including recruiting, onboarding, compensation analysis, benefits, data reporting and analysis.
• Provides feedback on any concerns about pay, benefits, job descriptions, vacations and corporate policies.
• Oversees all phases of the selection process: planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding.
• Evaluates and recommends improvement to HR operating processes and procedures to meet business needs and expectations.
Education and Qualifications:
• 5+ years in a comparable HR role and 3+ years of manufacturing and/or retail experience
• Post-secondary Degree in Business or HR, and a CHRP designation
• Strong knowledge of Government Legislation and Employment Law
• Experience with Compensation Structure & Performance Management
• Human Resources & Organizational Development Best Practice
• Advanced Skills in MS Office Suite
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent Communications skills: verbal, written, facilitation, and training delivery
• Collaboration: team player, leadership, coaching
