DIrector of Business Development – TerraCycle Canada – Toronto, Ontario

TerraCycle collects branded non-recyclable waste, mostly packaging waste, and it turns that waste into new “eco-friendly” products and materials. As a young and growing company, we have over 19,000 collecting locations, representing 1.5 million Canadians who participate in our programs, with over 20 brand partners, including; Mr. Christies, Nespresso, Maple Leaf, Febreze, Kool Aid and many more.

We are currently looking for a self-motivated, persistent and accountable Director of Business Development for the Canadian market. This is a unique role for a resourceful and driven individual who is looking for an exceptional opportunity in the sustainability field. The position is based in Toronto, ON and will report to, and work closely with, the General Manager of Canada and Global VP of Business Development.

The Director of Business Development will:

Secure new business development partnerships for TerraCycle
Research and evaluate potential new partners
Reach out to potential new partners via e-mail & phone follow-up
Develop client specific presentations and proposals
Present the TerraCycle program to potential new partners in conjunction with the GM of Canada
Work with new partners on pricing & finalization of contracts
Continually generate new ideas and programs to drive new business for TerraCycle

Qualifications:

Proven leadership skills
Proven sales track record and 3+ years of sales experience
Excellent research, writing, presentation and communication skills
Strong project management skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint & Excel
An entrepreneurial spirit
Experience in consumer packaged goods industry and/or experience in marketing function an asset
