As Director, Human Resources Services you will oversee the development of the Branch operating business plans and budget, innovative human resource strategic initiatives/opportunities, and Branch policies and procedures; and as part of the Department senior management team, ensuring the development, implementation and administration of human resource services that enable the Region to be an innovative and attractive employer.
Reporting to the Commissioner of Corporate Services you will collaboratively implement strategic and business plans that move the Region closer to achieving its Human Resources goals. As a key subject matter expert on HR policies, practices and compliance, you will act as an advisor and sounding board to the executive team and 21-member Council. Organize, coach and develop your team of 71 staff, and ensure programs are in place to measure the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of project outcomes. As Director of Human Resources you will reflect the Region’s dedication to integrity, commitment, accountability, respect and excellence as you lead your team in the support of approximately 3,500 employees across the corporation.
In addition to your degree and Human Resources designation, you possess at least 10 years of experience in the public or private sectors as well as understand the complexities of a unionized environment. A skilled people manager, you are known to help your team excel and stretch beyond their current capabilities. Adept at both the strategic and operational sides of Human Resources, you have successfully led strategic organizational change initiatives.
