The City of Rossland is currently seeking a temporary, full-time Deputy Corporate Officer (approximately one-year term), commencing in October 2017 until approximately October 2018 for coverage of an upcoming maternity leave. This is an exempt position within the City and a competitive benefits and salary package is being offered.
Reporting to, and under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer / Corporate Officer, the Deputy Corporate Officer assists with the management of all functions related to the statutory duties and responsibilities of the position of Corporate Officer.
General duties of the position include support for the responsibility for all administrative service of the City. Specifics include preparation of Council meeting agendas and minutes, attending Council meetings and public hearings and preparation of minutes and/or records of same; interprets bylaws, policies and procedures related to the work to internal and external contact; responds to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy requests; management of the Corporate Records Management System and municipal elections. The position is also responsible to assist in communications to the public including the preparation of press releases, newsletters, brochures, web page updates and other methods of public communication.
