Founded in 1976, the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) was created to provide post-secondary education for First Nations people and is one of the first post-secondary institutes in Canada to be fully governed by First Nation leaders. Once a centre for adult academic upgrading, SIIT is now an accredited institution that also offers certificate and diploma programs in Trades and Industrial, Business, Information Technology, Health and Community Studies. Through continued dedication and determination, today SIIT remains a vibrant college with three (3) Campuses, eight (8) Career and Work Prep Centres and numerous community sites located throughout Saskatchewan.
Each year, over 2000 students attend SIIT’s programs and over 4800 clients come through their eight Career and Work Preparation Centres across the province. Growth has come from all facets but the commitment and vision of SIIT supporting communities remains the same. Exploring education from an Aboriginal perspective gives our people the knowledge, confidence, and skill needed to enhance our communities and develop our younger generations. The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies is playing a significant role in Saskatchewan’s economic future; we welcome you to contribute to that success.
