Position Overview
Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator, the part-time Food Rescue Driver is responsible for picking up rescued food from our partner food suppliers, replenishing our storage space at YVR Prep, and delivering surplus food to our partner recipients around the Vancouver area. This position will report directly to the Administrative Coordinator who manages all routes for pick-up and drop-off locations and will partner with the Food Box Program Coordinator who oversees the day-to-day activities associated with the Rescued Food Box Program that operates out of our warehouse (YVR Prep) in Burnaby. This position will be an Ambassador for Food Stash as they operate out in the community and become a regular face that our partners welcome and rely on!

Safe and responsible driving practice
Skills and abilities required to perform duties:
Self-motivated, sound judgement and excellent interpersonal skills while interacting with various partners, program participants, volunteers, etc.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to be a team player and work independently
Highly organized and punctual
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the Administrative Coordinator and Executive Director, the driver performs all activities related to the pick-up and delivery of rescued food and is specifically responsible for the following duties:
Primary Duties
Travel to pick-up and delivery locations including but not limited to; grocery stores, local non-profit charities, YVR Prep, and food box program participant homes, as needed
Operates the Food Stash vehicle in a responsible manner
Communicates with partners and members of the public in a kind and empathetic manner, aligned with the values of Food Stash Foundation
Ensures food is stored at YVR Prep in a timely and organized manner
Communicates with Administrative Coordinator to ensure daily routes are confirmed and completed
Communicates with Administrative Coordinator under the circumstance that any issues or problems arise while completing their route and/or duties
Liaises with Food Box Program Coordinator to ensure warehouse storage is kept organized, cleaned, and up to standards
Ensures Food Stash truck is clean, parked, and locked at YVR Prep at the end of each day
Submits number of working hours to Administrative Coordinator on a weekly basis using the app or other technology as recommended by Food Stash
Note: This job may require additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Food Stash Foundation
Additional notes
Schedule: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday only) – approximately 10-12 hours.
Start time is flexible however we aim to complete all pick-ups before noon.
A typical day is 8am-1pm.
Location: Work days start & finish at YVR Prep
