Communications Director – Nature Alberta – Alberta

Requirements
Degree or equivalent in graphic or web design and a minimum of 5 years of communications experience
Knowledge of website creation and maintenance
Experience with writing and publishing
Experience with social media
Samples of work including website design
Interest in nature and the out-of-doors an asset

Roles and Responsibilities
Oversight
Develop and implement the annual communication plan in conjunction with board members and other staff. This includes providing communications support to all NA programs including promotion of the endowment fund.
Ensure all communications align with the established Nature Alberta brand.

Publications
Serve as the managing editor of the quarterly Nature Alberta Magazine, supported by the editorial team and staff. Duties include receiving submissions, copy editing, finding supplementary content such as photos, soliciting advertisers, and final layout.
Oversee the publication ofthe E-news, in collaboration with staff (6 times/year)
Provide guidance and input to program-related print publications
Support promotional and fundraising campaigns through development of materials (writing, layout)
Website

Maintain and update the website and online store
Oversee the transition of the website to a new, updated platform
Assist with maintenance of the membership database
Social Media
Assist staff in creating, finding and posting content on various platforms
Manage our social media presence inline with established brand guidelines

The conservation organization, Nature Alberta, is looking for a communications professional to lead its communications program. This is a permanent position, approximately half-time. Salary is commensurate with experience. The applicant must be based in Edmonton, Alberta. The position will involve a combination of office work and work from home.
