Position responsibilities
assists in the creation of marketing and communications collateral
maximizes exposure of TRC’s events and programs
creates content, monitors engagements, and provides analytics reporting for TRC’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn using Hootsuite for scheduling)
monitors effectiveness of promotional efforts (social media and eblasts); recommends ways to improve using best marketing and communications practices
sources, creates, and edits compelling images for digital and print marketing materials.
assists in the design and creation of print marketing materials (posters, buck slips, brochures, etc.)
manages website content (on WordPress CMS), reports on key website metrics, contributes original blog articles
researches new ways to create and foster relationships with TRC’s stakeholders: schools, volunteer groups, businesses, service clubs, faith groups, youth groups, families, older adults, special needs groups, and multicultural groups
Skills and qualifications
experience and education in marketing, communications, advertising or a related field
working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
understanding of web design and website management including experience with content management systems (WordPress preferred), Google Analytics, and basic HTML
strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
strong understanding of social media with practical experience, preferably for an organization
ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
ability to work independently and as part of a team
appreciation/knowledge the natural environment
ability to work on a personal laptop with Adobe Creative Cloud installed is an asset
video filming/editing experience is an asset
training in emergency first aid and CPR is an asset, but training may be provided
Start date is expected to be July 13 and will be confirmed pending approved access into Riverwood park by the City of Mississauga, and a grant from Service Canada/Canada Summer Jobs 2020. Expected end date is November 27, 2020.
