Communications and Administration – Home Performance Stakeholder Council – Vancouver

Position Description
We are seeking a self-directed, Jill-or-Jack-of-All Communications and Administration tasks individual who is ready to roll up their sleeves and take on any challenge to help grow the network and impact of the HPSC across BC. This individual will support the organization with its communications and administrative tasks including drafting e-newsletters, writing reports and communications, developing PowerPoint presentations, developing and implementing a social media strategy, and supporting the day-to-day administrative work of the organization. This individual will work with a team of committed industry professionals (the HPSC Director, Manager, Executive Committee, and HPSC Steering Committee) to advance and evolve the mandate, objectives and goals of the organization.
This position offers a high level of flexibility, opportunities for professional growth and the ability to help shape a dynamic organization that is supporting the market growth of the BC home energy performance industry.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Communications Tasks:
Compiling and writing E-newsletters
Writing social media content
Drafting communications strategy
Communicating to stakeholders
Developing PowerPoint presentations and reports
Organizing webinars
Event planning and delivery (or facilitation) for workshops and training events
Developing website content
Steering Committee and industry engagement

Administration Tasks:
Note-taking in quarterly Steering Committee meetings and weekly or bi-weekly conference calls.
Monitoring of info@homeperformance.ca and responding or directing to HPSC team members.
Scheduling meetings
Document writing, formatting and editing
Ad hoc support for the Manager, Director and HPSC Executive
Compensation: Applicants should outline their compensation requests in their cover letter.
Start Date: As soon as possible and flexible for the right candidate.
Term: Annual contract, performance and funding based.
Probationary Period: This contract will commence with a three-month probationary period.
Candidate Profile

Experience Required
Post-secondary school education with a diploma or bachelors;
Communications and administration experience;
Demonstrated academic or professional experience that demonstrates strong writing skills (examples may be requested);
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Familiarity with E-newsletter software, electronic communication programs, social media platforms and ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently;

Location & Travel
This individual will work remotely and is responsible for providing their own office space, computer and telephone systems.
Applicants are welcome from any location across British Columbia, with a preference for Metro Vancouver area or alternatively Victoria.
Post COVID-19 occasional travel may be required for workshops, trainings and meetings. Quarterly in-person meetings are usually held in the Metro Vancouver area.
