Location of Work & Business Address: Suite 750- 555 Seymour Street, Vancouver, BC. V6B 3H6
BCNET has been building cooperative, shared IT services for B.C.’s public, post-secondary sector since 1998. What began as a jumping off point to the Internet has evolved into a community of 25 higher education members who collaborate to share, explore and develop solutions to mutual IT challenges. As BCNET looks to the future, it will continue to improve and build the Advanced Network that is its namesake and explore, plan, invest in and assess new shared IT services to deliver greater value to members.
With the retirement of the current CEO, the opportunity exists for a new individual to provide leadership to this highly successful, shared-service organization.
Overseeing an annual operating budget of $10m, the CEO will play a key role in helping the organization and its members navigate a wide range of options and developments in the coming years while maintaining and even improving existing services. As the primary representative and spokesperson for BCNET, the CEO will establish and foster effective and active external relationships and collaborations – with members, government, industry, vendors, and local and national partner organizations.
The ideal candidate is a technologically credible leader with a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in IT senior leadership positions from the post-secondary or public sector. Experience with member-based or shared service environments will be a distinct asset, as will be a track record of working with and supporting a diverse board. The CEO will bring exceptional relationship building and communications skills and will thrive in an environment where they can seamlessly operate at both a strategic and tactical level. You will bring an undergraduate and master’s degree in an IT discipline. A graduate level degree is strongly preferred.
This is a full time, permanent position with an expected annual base salary in the $220,000 – $250,000 range, plus an executive benefits package.
