The Town of Oliver is seeking a CAO who has the ability to clearly identify issues, provide alternatives and make recommendations to Mayor and Council in developing and implementing policies and strategies that address the current and future needs of the community. You will further provide strong leadership to a team of dedicated staff in an organization with 27 full-time employees and an annual budget of approximately $11M. The ideal candidate will be genuinely interested in forming a connection with and understanding of the Town and will be interested in and want to be engaged with the community.

Oliver is seeking an accomplished local government leader with a minimum of five years senior administrative experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline who is effective at providing customer service in a small to medium sized municipality. You are known for your strong management and interpersonal skills and have a proven ability to develop positive working relationships with elected officials, employees and external stakeholders including the Okanagan Indian Band and the many joint services shared with rural Oliver. You hold good human resources and labour relations skills and are an effective communicator with sound political judgement. The ability to undertake the role of Subdivision Approving Officer would be an asset.
