Job Summary:
Responsible for supervising workers in a busy catering organization and assisting with the planning of the catering functions while meeting or exceeding guest expectations for service and food quality.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff that provide catering;
Oversee staff operations and ensure discipline during catering activities;
Estimate and order ingredients for meals;
Help select and train staff;
Keeping the parties informed of the status of each ongoing function;
Assisting with planning special events and menus for the event;
Ensuring all contracted items are delivered on time;
Assisting in achieving the department?s maximum profitability and overall success by controlling cost and quality of service;
Maintain service standards by evaluating customer satisfaction and resolving complaints;
Manage inventory, sales, waste at catering events;
Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards;
May have to travel for on-site catering.
Minimum Skills Requirements
Completion of Secondary School.
Post-secondary degree or College Diploma will be considered.
1-2 years of experience in food preparation or services in a busy environment. Past supervisory experience is an asset although not required.
Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres ? Indian Cuisine;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
