Definition of Work
This position is accountable for the effective, integrated management of an assigned group of claims considered high risk. It ensures that appropriate medical management, early and safe return to work, labour market re-entry and compensation services are coordinated and delivered in a timely manner and responsive to the needs of the injured worker, employer and the Commission.
Qualifications
Qualifications include a university degree, preferably in health care, Social Sciences or a related area. Candidates must have substantial relevant experience in medical management of a caseload, combined with experience in vocational rehabilitation. Candidates must have well-developed organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with strong decision-making abilities, good judgment, well demonstrated knowledge of Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation legislation, policies and procedures, programs and services, medical terminology and medical modalities, and must have an understanding of the health care delivery system in the province. Knowledge of administrative law, the applicability of the rules of natural justice and an understanding of the role government, industry and labour play in the overall workers’ compensation system is also required. Basic computer skills would be an asset. A vehicle and valid driver’s license are conditions of employment.
Salary $67,594 – $74,574
