Campaign Manager – Earth Day Canada – Toronto, Ontario

Earth Day Canada has an ambitious campaign to collect 1 million signatures from Canadians on our Earth Flag which we will take to Paris in December 2015 for the COP21 conference where 196 countries will meet to sign a new international climate agreement. The Earth Flag will represent the collective resolve of Canadians to reduce carbon. The pledge on the Earth Flag reads as follows: I pledge to make Earth Day Every Day and reduce my carbon footprint.

We are seeking a Campaign Manager to co-ordinate and manage the various campaign elements (communications, outreach, strategy) as well as oversee the recruitment and placement of a large number of volunteers from around the GTA to help us collect signatures through various public events, festivals, rallies and Pam Am Games scheduled throughout the summer. We will provide the volunteers with the training, t-shirts and all the tools needed, and we have asked volunteers to be able to offer at least 50 hours of time, including weekends and evenings if possible.

The Campaign Manager will work directly with the President of Earth Day, the Director of Campaigns, and the Manager of Communications. This is a contract position starting immediately and running until the end of October. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Previous campaign management experience is essential, ideally supporting a grassroots, environmental or socially-related campaign. Excellent communications, outreach, and strategic abilities are essential, as are a familiarity with and passion to mitigate climate change. Volunteer co-ordination experience would be valuable.

Please submit your cover letter and CV addressed to Deb Doncaster, President of Earth Day Canada, to:
