Reporting to the Director of Development Services, this unionized position investigates and processes complaints concerning bylaw infractions and violations; enforces regulations and bylaws related to issues such as parking, zoning, noise, untidy premises, signs, and the alike; gathers evidence and attends adjudication hearings as a witness when necessary; prepares departmental reports; and explains and interprets bylaws and regulations to the public. The work involves considerable public relations contact and requires good customer service skills in order to respond and resolve issues with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality. To compliment your successful completion of Level 1 of the Justice Institute’s Bylaw Enforcement Program, your experience reflects a minimum of three years in inspection or investigative work and/or law enforcement.
Pay and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458.
