Jean Marie River First Nation is looking for a highly motivated individual who knows the challenges that are unique to a small remote community. Working under the direction of the Chief and Council, the Band Manager is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of all Band programs, Municipal Services, and the Band’s businesses (compliant with legislation, regulation, policy and procedure), ensuring the needs of Band members are met in reasonable, effective, and efficient manner.

Qualifications:
Five years related experience in a First Nation or municipal setting.
Degree or Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent of First Nation Band Manager experience.
Experience to include excellent knowledge of computer applications.
A proficient knowledge of human resource management and an understanding of relevant legislation, policy and directive including the Municipal and Indian Acts.
The incumbent will be responsible for transparent, accurate and regular administration and financial reporting, and that proper rules respecting the management of all revenue & expenditures are in place and adhered to.
The Band Manager must maintain strict confidentiality, high standards of conduct, be respectful and culturally aware; he/she must also be consistent and fair in any business dealings conducted on behalf of the Band.
Ability to speak Dene Zhatie and knowledge of Simply Accounting would be an asset.
