                                              Auxiliary Recreation Leader – Arena

In this interesting and challenging front line position, you will assist in the planning, supervision and delivery of specified social, cultural and recreational programs and activities in our city.  Recreation Leaders work daytime, evening and weekend shifts in the supervision and delivery of recreation programs in community centres, youth services, volunteer services, sport services and recreation inclusion. The work also involves: promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activities, and assisting in directing the work of instructors and volunteers.

Preferred candidates will have a passion for active lifestyles, experience working in an ice arena environment, good communication skills, experience supervising volunteers or staff and have diploma in Recreation from a recognized Community College, along with relevant work experience demonstrating a sound knowledge of community recreation or a suitable combination of both.  Current First Aid/CPR Certification, ability to work some days, evenings and weekends and a valid BC Driver’s License is required.  Preferred candidates will have an extensive skating background.  A police information and vulnerable sector check will be required for final candidates.

This position will require a combination of week day, evening and weekend hours.  Hourly wage starts at $24.59 (2o15 rates).
