Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company (SMI) is a federally licensed property and casualty (P&C) insurer operating successfully in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba with annual direct written premiums of $62.8 million.  The Company is subject to various Insurance Acts, both federal and provincial and to regulation by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).  SMI, with approximately 75 employees, distributes its products through the independent brokerage system. The Company’s head office is located in Saskatoon with service offices in Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg.

Associate Vice President, Risk Management – Saskatoon

The Associate Vice President, Risk Management directs risk management activities and provides strategic risk management vision, guidance and advice to the organization.  This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the Company’s enterprise risk management framework.  Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the incumbent will serve as a member of the senior management team and contribute to the development of corporate strategy and policy.

Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance is seeking a leader with a minimum of 3 years risk management experience at a senior level, a risk management certification and an undergraduate business degree or masters of business administration from a Canadian University (or equivalent). Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of insurance underwriting, claims processing and general insurance operations.
