If working for this kind of progressive organization is of interest, you should know that we’re currently recruiting for a full-time Asset Management Coordinator to complement our Infrastructure and Planning asset management system at the City of Leduc.
While reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this position is responsible for implementing Infrastructure and Planning’s asset management system, providing support for the ongoing management of operational and capital improvements, assisting Public Services in training and developing asset management conscious business practices. This position will require the collaborative development, roll out, and evaluation of a guiding integrated asset management framework. A strong comprehension of life cycle management, risk management and an understanding of service levels and municipal operations will aid in this effort.
This position is expected to evolve also into a role that will help manage the City’s utility master plans. The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a technical Engineering diploma or degree (Civil discipline) from a recognized technical institute with eligibility for professional designation as a C.E.T. with ASET or an E.I.T. eligible for P.Eng. designation with APEGA. Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, equivalencies and less experience may be considered. Alternatively GIS education/certification with relevant experience will also be considered. A solid understanding of engineering principals, and public service operations and project management will be used to effectively implement asset management practices. Because this is a new position, we are seeking a proactive and goal-oriented individual to take on this role. Strong project management, written and verbal communication skills would be considered an asset. The candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to build relationships and support internal customers. An understanding of databases, Geographic information systems, PCSWMM and WaterCAD software, and how asset management relates to finance would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will also provide a Criminal Record Check as part of the hiring process.
