The Village of Burns Lake is seeking a qualified, competent and committed individual for a permanent Full time (40 hours/week) opportunity at the Tom Forsyth Memorial Arena. Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends. The Arena Foreman is responsible for all development, management and operation of the Tom Forsyth Memorial Ice Arena and Burns Lake Curling Rink.

Job Requirements:
Make ice surface and maintain ice including flooding, operating ice resurfacing machine
Perform building repairs and renovations to the arena, curling rink and recreation center
Ensure the arena is operated and maintained safely, cleanly and effectively
Implement and coordinate ice and staff work schedules
Recruitment, training, and supervision of all arena staff
Monitor the use of recreation equipment and facilities
Operate and maintain the Zamboni and all other arena/curing rink ice equipment
Prepare and manage arena budgets and reports
Ensure that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Pursue additional revenue opportunities to address fiscal constraints

Qualifications:
At least 5 years supervising experience operating an ice resurfacing machine
Knowledge of required provincials and federal safety procedures and work practices
Considerable experience in providing guidance, leadership, and direction to maintenance staff
Valid WHMIS, First Aid, CPR certificate
Experience working as a building service or building maintenance worker
Experience working in an unionized environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have experience with Microsoft office
Knowledge of recreation management programs
Work well in a team setting
