Position Summary:
As Annual Giving Coordinator, you are a highly-motivated, demonstrably experienced, self-directed, well-organized analytic thinker who will be responsible for an Annual Giving program that secures the financial stability and growth of Sierra Club BC. You hold compelling communication and marketing skills, and display energy and professionalism with a strong grasp of both emerging and established fundraising strategy, techniques and methods. You will be responsible for setting and meeting annual giving fundraising goals, long-range strategic planning for annual giving, and donor acquisition.
Major Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, lead the annual strategic planning process for annual giving, including forecasting revenue for the fiscal year ahead and setting targets
Design and deliver fundraising appeals including mailings, e-appeals, peer to peer and event activities
Generate all appeals, including writing, design, mailings
Manage the annual giving budget and generate reports for tracking revenue targets
Design and implement donor acquisition strategies
Coordinate development of fundraising communication materials
Qualifications/Skills:
Professional certification in marketing, communications or similar field and at least 2 years of fundraising experience (equivalent knowledge and experience will be considered)
Demonstrated copywriting ability for fundraising purposes
Proven success in planning and implementing an annual giving program
Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in online and offline fundraising
Strong understanding of environmental issues in BC
Demonstrated experience in event management
Database user experience (Salesforce an asset)
Strong computer skills including CRM, Mailchimp, Excel and file management
Ability to design, implement and direct multiple projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability
Ability to define and communicate a compelling an inspired narrative.
Ability to liaise with key staff to make strategic decisions based on analysis, wisdom and judgment
Ability to act independently
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
Broad financial responsibility, including setting and meeting fundraising objectives, evaluating results and developing corrective strategy as required
Develop and administer annual giving budget
Superb communication and presentation skills, ability to motivate supporters to take action by donating
Ability to deal with difficult situations and remain calm under pressure
This is a .6 FTE (3 days/wk.) position based in Victoria, BC. Some weekend and evening work is required. Salary will conform to Sierra Club BC’s salary grid. The starting salary for this position is $26292.36 annually with annual increases. We offer a generous vacation allowance and a solid benefits package.
