Nelson’s oldest eco store is looking for enthusiastic and committed staff with a passion for sustainable, fair trade fashion and eco products.
Two positions are open (please see this posting and our Web/Tech Coordinator posting). Duties and responsibilities may shift between the two positions, depending on the qualifications of the applicants who are selected. Scheduling flexibility is requested for both positions — evening and weekend availability is much appreciated.
ADMINISTRATION & PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR – this posting (part- to full-time) — Administrative support, online promotions (newsletters and social media), and graphic design
WEB & TECH COORDINATOR – please see our other posting (part-time) — Basic in-house website management and oversight of computers, phones, and technology
ADMINISTRATION & PROMOTIONS POSITION
Successful applicants will have:
Familiarity with basic website management (required for the web position; an asset for the administrative/promotions position). Coding/development experience is not required, but applicants should be comfortable using at least one content management system to update pages and files (eg WordPress). Experience with Magento is a definite asset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel (required for both positions). Experience with other office/graphics software is an asset.
ASSETS for both positions:
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign (strongly desired)
Familiarity with newsletter programs (eg Mailchimp) and social media
Familiarity with early versions of Quickbooks
Various types of sales experience: email/online, in person, telephone (including cold calling)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and improve current promotions/marketing/customer communications initiatives: this includes but is not limited to newsletters, social media, ads, and signage
Administrative and office support as needed
Graphic design support as needed (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator preferred)
OBJECTIVES:
Increase web sales to higher than the previous three-year average
Increase wholesale sales
Increase our outreach to tourists in or visiting the area
Increase contact with our customer and supporter base (see above re increasing web sales):
Increase our newsletter subscribership
Build our presence on social media (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc)
Undertake new initiatives to engage with customers (new announcements, specials, interactive opportunities, etc)
