The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is located in southwestern BC and consists of 4 member municipalities (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Lillooet) and 4 electoral areas. The region contains some of the most spectacular forests, waterways, and mountains in the province and affords an endless range of opportunities for outdoor adventure.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, with an office located in Pemberton (35 km north of Whistler), is seeking an experienced person with the following skills for a full-time term/contract position is to coordinate the implementation of the Bylaw Dispute Adjudication / Bylaw Notice Enforcement system for the SLRD. The ideal candidate will possess:

Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in planning, law, public policy, project management, or a related discipline as well as two or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project and fiscal management experience.
Experience working with the Local Government Act.
Experience in developing local government bylaws and ticketing systems.
Experience in local government bylaw enforcement.
Experience facilitating and engaging with local governments.
Strong research, analytic, and writing skills.

This position is expected to last approximately 3 – 4 months in duration.

The successful applicant will be mature, professional and will possess a sound understanding of the principles, practices, legislative requirements, and tools relating to the Bylaw Dispute Adjudication System, local government bylaw and policy development, and bylaw enforcement.
